The 20th of February 2020 marked the release date of Spice’s latest music video. The track titled ‘02.20.2020′, comes off Spice Freestyle Riddim and was a self-production. The Love and Hip-Hop : Atlanta star kills it in her freestyle spitting fire bars for the duration of the 2 minute thirty one second track.
In an effort to create extra hype for the track, Spice then offered JMD $20,000 each to the first 20 fans able to master the lyrics and submit a video off themselves freestyling it. An advert circulated on her official social media pages inviting fans to the challenge ensuring the winners to be paid out via Pay Pal, Western Union or Money Gram.
As if this gimmick or should I say gesture was not interesting enough, the video itself will leave you astounded. If the director’s motive was to showcase a very mundane morning routine, revealing a typical Spice morning without any discretion, he certainly nailed it. From the Chanel curtains and mats to Spice’s generous tissue paper usage when on the toilet. They certainly tried to keep it real and uncut as she dropped her bars. However, it’s not really believable and real when someone wakes up wearing fake eye lashes.
Since its release the video has garnered 680k views on Youtube so you could say the video was a success. And I’m not that much of a Spice fan. Or, maybe its viewership has been enhanced due to the challenge. Either way, Spice and her team are winning. She manages to maintain her status as the Queen of Dancehall. Keeping other female deejays like Shenseea and Jada Kingdom at arm’s length.
On that note. Be sure to check out Shenseea’s latest video Trick a’ Treat produced by Chimney Records and RD Studios and Ishawna’s sultry Come Inside track doing the rounds.
Be sure to also check out the freestyle attempts as well. They provide a certain type of entertainment.
