Vybz Kartel has a way of inadvertently putting female deejays on the map through collaborations on his tracks. Spice rose to fame in 2009 after their controversial hit Romping Shop went viral. Spice then kicked on from there and now brags the title of ‘Queen of di Dancehall’. Â Fast forward to 2017 and there was the emergence of another dancehall starlet by the name Shenseea. Presently with the title, ‘Princess of Dancehall’, Shenseea made her mark alongside Vybz in Loodi. And since 2017 she has not looked back.
Vybz Kartel’s latest track may very well be the catapult Renee 6:30 needs in her music career. The dancer turned musician features with the Worl’Boss in Sometimes Love Dies. The love song was produced by Kartel’s ex Tanesha on Short Muzik’s label. In what feels like a continuation from his album To Tanesha released in January the love song talks about the shortcomings that happen in relationships. Not having featured on the album, Renee 6:30 joins a host of talented female artists to sing alongside the deejay including Jada Kingdom and Jodie Couture.
