Popcaan and Drake Drop Another Banger

popcaan and drake drop another banger

Popcaan and Canadian star Drake teamed up for the third time, for their latest single titled We Caa Done. The single was released last Friday (January 6) along with an official video which has already garnered 1.5 million views on Youtube in just a weekend. The feel-good video features the duo along with the likes of NBA’s Kevin Durant and the usual bevy of babes.

The pair have collaborated before in Twist and Turn and All I Need which both feature on the FIXTAPE released in 2020. We Caa Done as well as Next To Me with Toni-Ann Singh will feature on Popcaan’s upcoming album Great Is He, which is set to be released later on in the year.

The[/embed] Unruly OVO Sound comes to the fore in this chilled track and I am sure it will be a hit all over the world as the track cannot only be described as being dancehall but a fusion with RnB. Thinking of himself as a historical figure in Marcus Garvey on his album cover, Popcaan has elevated himself to levels in the past couple of years. With a supermodel by his side (Toni-Ann Singh) the Unruly Boss is the artist to beat in 2023 in my opinion. With the rise of Skeng, Masicka, and Skillibeng and the ever-present Vybz Kartel and Busy Signal, my pick has to be The Unruly Boss as he continues to drop bangers. Set It released in December is another banger from Popcaan that deserves special mention along with One Way released in November 2022.

2023 is poised to be another top year for music production in the Windies. The collaborations keep coming in thick and fast and my guess is as good as yours which global superstars will be teaming up. I am very excited by the evolution of Afro Beats and its impact on the Jamaican sound and time will tell what sound will come out from that.
