Mavado Is Poised To Release 3rd Studio Album

mavado is poised to release 3rd studio album

The Gully Gud is now just crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s on his upcoming album which should be released later this year.

Mavado has been in and out of the studio over the last few months as he prepares to release the album later this year. An album name and release date is yet to be confirmed.

It remains unclear as to who will be featuring on the Gully Gad’s project. Mavado has linked up with Cardi B and Tory Lanez over the weekend during Summer Jam 2019 so that has raised a few eyebrows.

Vado is presently enjoying success with his latest collaboration titled “Holy Mountain.” He collaborates with Buju Banton, Sizzla and 070 Shake on a track taken off DJ Khaled’s new “Father of Asahd” album. The track debuted at number one, on the Billboard Reggae Digital Song Sales chart last week and is presently number 99 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart. The video has already amassed 7 million views since its release on May 17.

There has been speculation that Mavado is in Jamaican as opposed to the United States where he has permanent residence. Following his sons indiscretions with the law last year, Mavado is apparently now back in Jamaica after a year in solidarity for his son and it also stands to reason he may back to  work with other Jamaican songwriters, artists and producers in putting the final touches for the album.

This forthcoming album follows “Mr. Brooks…A Better Tomorrow” which was the artist’s second studio album in 2009. Fans have had to wait a long time but as they say good things come to those who are patient.

Gone are the days where there used to be constant comparison as to who was superior with Vybz Kartel but the rate at which Vybz churns out top music cannot be paralleled. Mavado is not as prolific as The Worl’Boss but you cannot take the Gully Gud lightly. If this album is half as good as the last, fans are in for a treat for classic modern dancehall.
