Lila Ike dropped her highly anticipated debut EP The ExPerience. The album was released via RCA Records in conjunction with Six Course Records and In.Digg.Nation Collective. The album features 7 tracks including already released tracks, Where I’m Coming From and I Spy.
At only just 26 years of age, Lila has built up her name in the reggae and dancehall industry. She has also collaborated with other top artists including Protoge and Agent Sasko. Lila not only spits deep bars in freestyles but has a captivating voice that competes with any other songstress across genres. Her combination of the two, fused with RnB and Hip-Hop set her apart from her contemporaries. The ExPerience showcases her talents very well and will keep her in good stead in the genre.
Lila[/embed] Ike found herself on numerous ‘Artist To Watch’ lists, for magazines including The FADER and Billboard for 2020. Riddimsworld also earmarked Lila to shine in 2020 and she has not her fans down with her debut album. Time will tell the heights the album reaches. However, in terms of content, Lila does well in expressing her sentiments about life, love, relationships and social responsibility.
Lila spoke about The ExPerience saying the EP “is an experience of me, showing my versatility and the different tones, values and vibes of a woman. This is a mixture of songs influenced by reggae, but it does not define the sound. It has trap dancehall on “Where I’m Coming From†and soulful vibes on “Forget Me.†It gets sweet and jazzy on “Stars Align†and “I Spy†has this reggaeton and pop feel. It is a beautiful time for this kind of music to come from Jamaica, we are showing people there is no linear way of anything.â€
