Dvsn, Buju and Ty Dollar $ign Make Up Unlikely Collaboration

dvsn, buju and ty dollar $ign make up unlikely collaboration

Buju Banton fans have been taken through a roller coaster over the course of his career and the dancehall legend continues to wow them. From the days of Murderer in 1995 to love songs like Bonafide Love. Who would have thought 25 years later Buju would be featuring with up-and coming Canadians in RnB love jams.

Buju’s latest exploit is a collaboration with Canadian duo DVSN and American rapper Ty Dollar Sign. The love song called Dangerous City has the ensemble give their different romantic renditions in wooing love interests. The track kicks off as your usual RnB tune then climaxes with a strong reggae beat as Buju makes his mark.

The track comes off the much anticipated album from OVO duo DVSN titled, A Muse In Her Feelings. The album is set for release on the 17th of April 2020. It also features another dancehall player in Popcaan. Future, Snoh Aalegra, Summer Walker, Jessie Reyez, Partynextdoor and Shantel May make up the cast for the rest of the album.

Following Buju’s release from prison in 2018, the dancehall legend has revived his career and grown his international brand. Having signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, Buju has kicked his career on and made some notable international collaborations. He recently partnered up with another top Canadian artist Torey Lanez, for his 2019 hit song, Trust’s remix. Buju is poised to release his 13th studio album this month and I expect it to be a classic.

Had you told me Buju would make a love song with DVSN a year ago I probably would not have been excited. However, Dangerous City has me gobbling up humble pie. The chilled track is a gem. Covoid-19 has people waiting for new music constantly and this is a real treat. Doesn’t matter if you’re chilling on some beach or looking out your city apartment window, the song still works.

Look out for the single and be sure to give DVSN’s upcoming album a chance.
