Dancehall super-producer Rvssian recently disclosed on Jai Frais’s Let’s Be Honest Podcast that he and Shenseea have not communicated for the past two years due to a divergence in their artistic perspectives. Despite their close collaboration at the onset of Shenseea’s career, yielding hits like “Blessed” and her signing to Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants, a label under Interscope Records, a discord emerged over Shenseea’s shift towards hip-hop and pop genres.
Acknowledging Shenseea’s endeavors in hip-hop, Rvssian expressed reservations about the compatibility of her music choices with audience expectations. He stated, “I think she is capitalizing on the opportunities in terms of doing [hip hop]. I just feel like maybe the choice of music is not the best of what the people want to hear from her because sometimes the people’s vision and the artiste’s vision [is] different.”
