Buju Banton The Real Bad Boy For Life

buju banton the real bad boy for life

2019 had two major stories that will be talked about in years to come. First was the rise of teenage sensation Koffee who announced herself to the world. Her debut album Rapture, won the hearts of people all over the world and she was hailed the breakout artist of the year by numerous magazines. The other hot story was the comeback of dancehall stalwart Buju Banton from prison, after serving 8 years on drug charges. Buju commenced and concluded his Long Walk To Freedom Tour in the year. He also signed off the year signing to Jay-Z’s Roc-Nation Record label.

The Buju comeback continues this year with the news that his track Murda She Wrote from 1997 has been featured on the official soundtrack for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s movie, Bad Boys For Life. Buju features in the iconic movie franchise alongside Jaden Smith, Meek Mill, City Girls, Black Eyed Peas, and J Balvin.

‘Bad[/embed] Boys For Life’,the last installment in the Bad Boys franchise premiers on the 17th of January 2020. This also marks the day which the official soundtrack album will be released. The project was produced by We The Best Music Group and Epic Records. Also known as Gargamel, Buju becomes the third Jamaican artist to feature in the franchise following Diane King and Inner Circle.

This can only do wonders for Buju’s confidence. His long walk to freedom has definitely come to a fairy-tale ending and we look forward to more from him. With the influence of Roc-Nation his brand is going to get bigger. Lets hope he stays out of trouble and shines. Who says there is something wrong with the rehabilitation system in Jamaica? Diane? Buju stands as a model example. I just hope a lot more incarcerated present/upcoming artists are given hope that things can definitely turn around.
