As the old adage says, ‘there are many ways to skin a cat’. This applies to the budding music career of St Elizabeth born Bad Gyal DyDy. Born Dyrana McIntosh, the emerging dancehall talent has gone about her music career with a unique formula and her music is steadily getting traction.
In similar fashion to stars like Stefflon Don and HoodCelebrityy, DyDy was born and raised in Jamaica but relocated at 17 to the United States. Being a single child, the move was not of her making as she was part of her mother’s entourage. Dyrana embraced her new life in New York and went about building her music career.  Instead of making music and putting it out there and building a following, DyDy went about building a following first. In order to gain popularity DyDy built up a following on social media platforms. Helped by her witty outgoing personae she was able to start the ‘Pineapple Fi Di Pum Pum’ movement.
The woman based movement provides health tips and good living standards for women. The movement propelled DyDy’s brand to levels, amassing a following of more than 400, 000 people. With a platform to share to, in 2017, DyDy released her first single 2 Can which appealed to her strong woman following. The track was very successful and had over 2 million views on Youtube. On the back of it, she continued with her music and collaborated with Ayo in Special One in 2018, also having mild success with Stress Free.
Miss McIntosh has introduced herself to the new decade with her brand new single Fresh. The dancehall track is a tonic in the dancehall industry and is growing in popularity. She is definitely onto something and we can all look forward to many cool sexy jams from her. Managed by Todd Talent and Management Inc. Dydy is determined to be a success story in both JA and the US.
A definite hot prospect for the future. Look out for her latest single Fresh.
