Junior Lee Bryan was born in Kingston, Jamaica. His interest in music developed at a young age. In 1986, he began DJing on Rambo International, a sound system in his community. He also performed on major sound systems such as Stone Love, Metro Media, Inner City, and others. In 1987, Bryan recorded his first single, “Haf Fi Fly Out,” on the Techniques Label. He produced several hits for the same label, including “Winery” and “Run Gal Run.” Bryan worked with Jamaica’s top labels and producers, including Bobby Digital, Red Man International, Steelie & Clevie, Sly & Robbie, King Jammys, and Fat Eyes Productions. In 1988, he began performing at stage shows such as Champions in Action, Sting, Fresh, Reggae Sunsplash, and Hotshots. That same year, he embarked on a world tour with Red Dragon, Flourgon, and Sanchez. He also collaborated with artists like Red Rose, Anthony Malvo, Chevelle Franklyn, and others. Bryan released his debut album and single, “The Music” and “Run Gal Run Remix,” which gained significant popularity. Through his label, Reptile Productions, Bryan has produced many reggae artists, including Glen Washington, Anthony B, Turbulence, Ghost, and others.
