The Monopoly Riddim (2024) – Chevy Entertainment

RW·495739 2024 Dancehall 5 cuts

The Monopoly Riddim came out in 2024 from Chevy Entertainment, a dancehall juggling with five cuts and a straight-ahead, no-frills feel. It runs with the kind of tough, street-minded energy that suits its title: the drums hit with a march-like pressure, the bass stays weighty, and the whole rhythm leaves room for the deejays to cut through cleanly rather than getting buried under too much studio gloss.

The lineup is tight and each voice gives the rhythm a slightly different angle. 10Tik opens with “Head Mad, ” bringing the raw, reflective edge he’s become known for, while Teflon Young King’s “Run Di Streets” taps into the harder, more conscious side of his catalogue. J Mulaj’s “Neva Cap” adds a younger, sharper tone, and Paranaamal’s “Young King” carries the kind of self-assertive stance that fits a riddim built for street credibility. Bad Boy Mike closes with the title cut, anchoring the project with a producer-led statement that ties the whole set together.

What makes this one work is the balance between aggression and space. It is not overarranged, so the vocals stay front and center, and that gives the songs room to breathe. 10Tik and Teflon Young King feel like the strongest points of entry, but the riddim itself has enough pulse to make every cut land with purpose.
