The Divinity Riddim – Iron Fist Productionz

Low-slung and devotional, the Divinity Riddim feels like one of those early-2010 reggae one-riddims that keeps its focus on songcraft rather than studio tricks. Iron Fist Productionz lines up five voices here, and the spread runs from Flawless’ pleading “No One But U” to Hi Grade Family’s warm “Blessed Love” and Kerry John’s sharper “Why Me, ” giving the set a mix of roots-minded reflection and lighter lovers energy. Marlon Asher is the obvious name draw, and “I’M Gone” has the kind of clipped, emotionally charged delivery that hangs in the air after the beat drops. Orlando Octave closes it out with “Gyalist, ” a track that pushes the riddim toward a more streetwise edge and leaves the final word with the most animated performance on the release.
