The first thing that comes to peoples’ minds when they hear Tony Montana is probably Al Pacino’s iconic scene in Scarface where he shouts out, “say hello to my little friendâ€. That probably only applies to Baby Boomers and Generation X babies. Probably not the same for post Millennials as they might not have been exposed to the classic 80s movie.
Vybz Kartel has added another dimension to the character in his latest track Tony Montanna produced by T100 records. Since the tracks release on the 16th Feb. The audio has garnered over 1.2 million views on Youtube and counting. I wonder what will happen if the audio is accompanied by an official video. The track has been well received by dancehall fans and has hip hop legend Busta Rhymes chiming in and applauding the track. On an Instagram post, Busta was seen throwing hundred dollar bills at a deejay in an American club vibing to the jam. Kartel went on to post on his Instagram another caption exclaiming how Tony Montanna was trending at #1 and it was just, “too easyâ€.
I don’t think we can lavish enough praise to Vybz. He always has a way of letting us know how bad ass he is time and time again.
The Worl’Boss has had a good start to 2020 with other tracks like World Government, and the release of his emotional album To Tanesha. He has also been able to collaborate with the skillful Tommy Lee Sparta in Chop Chap and Dark Ages.
Its business as usual for Vybz as he doesn’t seem to miss a beat. Despite his incarceration his family seem to be doing alright. They have been seen in vacation photos in France that have gone viral on social media. The Gaza First Family are probably the reason why we continue to hear banger after banger from the Teacher. Long may it continue. Keep at it Mr Palmer. #freeworlboss
