Vybz Kartel Hits Back At Foota Hype

Selector/Producer Foota Hype is clutching at straws in creating showbiz hype.

His latest act was to awaken a sleeping beast in Vybz Kartel, by criticizing him and Montego Bay-based Squash slating that the pair were nasty and were damaging the reputation of dancehall. The critique stemmed from the duo’s collaboration video ‘Beat Dem Bad’, which mainly featured women being intimate with each other. He insinuated that the video promoted lesbianism.

Vybz Kartel  has enough issues to deal with, like being incarcerated and all, but the ‘Worl’Boss’ took some time out to hit back at Hype. He uploaded a snippet for his ‘Gwan Like Yuh Tuff’ single ostensibly taking jabs at the selector.

When you look at the music video, does it really promote lesbianism? If you look at most summer jams in most genres, including RnB, Rap and Dancehall you will find eight times out of ten, women dressed scantily, posing and or dancing. Isn’t this just another sexy music video? The video showcases women openly comfortable with one another and their sexuality, in a party setting.

In the wake of the Shenseea‘s  ‘Blessed’ video and Shauna Controlla’s revelation about her being a bisexual, is Foota Hype just trying to create some extra buzz and seem relevant? Whats your problem with lesbians anyway?

Foota Hype went on, taking shots at Vybz Kartel, mocking the icon about his incarceration asking what he could possibly achieve. For starters Kartel has been relevant for a long period of time and is showing no signs of relinquishing his title as the King of Dancehall. Well, that title can be disputed by Beenie Man, but that’s another conversation.

A Facebook screenshot apparently from Vybz Kartel page is  making rounds on social media.
