Dancehall artiste Versi started the new year correctly, with the release of his brand new track, titled ‘One Dream.’ Released on January 3, 2020, the track was produced by CJ the Chemist and Mr Chin of Chemist Records and Mishnagi Records respectively.
“This track is about true loyalty; not just talking and keeping friendships but actually sharing the wealth with your loyal friends. It’s about helping your loved ones to come up in life as you did, for example,” the artist explained.
The accompanying music video, directed by Kenneth Gray, premiered on the artist’s VEVO page on March 30. The high-quality production was shot in locations across New York and New Jersey, as well as Jamaica. Since its release, the video has amassed over 70,000 views and great responses from fans. Support has also been evident on radio, where the track has been seeing heavy rotation. Including some of the Instagram music live streams that have become increasingly popular since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic.
Keeping the momentum going, Versi has already followed up with two new tracks – “Mind Games”, produced by the artist’s own label Cawvinz Ent and “Nuff Gyal” featuring Noah Powa, produced by Shabdon. There is more in the pipeline, with his long-awaited EP in the works, along with more singles produced by CJ the Chemist, Din Din Hemton, Papi Don, as well as Versi himself.
Fittingly, Versi is an artist who can be described as versatile. He stands a cut above the rest with his undeniable talent and natural star qualities. Despite the challenges, the artist has manned up and stuck to producing good music, while maintaining a clean-cut yet rough and edgy image.
While he’s still working hard. Versi remains wary of the current COVID-19 situation and wants to encourage others to remain positive.
“I just want to tell my people of Jamaica and the world at large to take this time to meditate, connect with the Most High God, bond with your family and just obey the rules. Stay inside and have faith because this shall pass,” he expressed.
“One Dream” is available for purchase and streaming on major digital platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify.
