British/Jamaican singer and songwriter Khalia teamed up with Jamaica’s very own Tanya Stephens for a powerful reggae cut entitled No Answer. The track comes from Khalia’s upcoming EP titled Stay True set for release in October 2023.

Following on from her impressive cover of Miley Cyrus’s Flowers and High, Khalia chose to collaborate with Tanya Stephens for what is proving to be a deep reggae jam.

It was great working with Tanya, we had two records in mind for her to feature on and I’m glad she chose this one because her lyrics are a perfect fit,” Khalia said.

On the message of the song, Khalia spoke about the need to sing empowering songs as the message will always be needed. She went on to say,

“Unfortunately protest music is something that has to happen because music is a reflection of reality and this is a part of real life. I would prefer to not have to sing these songs but it’s a message that’s needed. We have to challenge the system and demand change,” she said.

Echoing the sentiments of Bob Marley’s latest posthumous album, it is all about unity, and it is a message we should never get tired of hearing.

Khalia & Tanya Stephens - No Answer (Official Audio)

Reggae veteran Tanya Stephens doesn’t hold back with her opinions as well with heavy bars about the economic status quo in not just JA but the world at large.

No Answer poses all the pertinent questions which need addressing and it’s good to have a female perspective as well. No Answer is another classic example of reggae at its best for all the reggae lovers out there. Be sure to give it a listen and spread the message we all need to hear time and time again.
