Like something straight out of a Tarantino flick, Squash released the visuals for his track Cold Blood. As the title track says, Squash hit a home run with a gritty track depicting violence in an almost poetic manner. The video has a fair amount of guns, blood and provocative women. Despite the fact that we have an ever growing problem with gun violence there is no stopping artists from glamourizing the lifestyle.
Cold Blood was produced by 6ixReal Records and Wapdem Records and distributed by 21st Hapilos. In just 24 hours the video already has 120k views on Youtube while the audio massed 350k views a couple of months back. It says a lot about human nature. We are strangely drawn to controversy, sex and violence. Most of the world’s problems stem from such depictions of violence borne from the ‘budmun’ culture.
Taking nothing from Squash, the track is still a banger as he has a wide range of instruments making up the beat and spits fire bars. The 6IX Boss has set a high bar for himself in delivering a Grammy Award winning album. The album is titled Mr Whittaker and is slated for release midway through the year. Fans responded negatively to Squash’s goals but I hope it only spurs the 6IX boss on, to silence his critics.
However there is something I agree with some fans though and that’s to do with the videos. “I’m real tired of these killing videos, a swear..,” said one fan. Squash is definitely on the right music path, I suggest he cleans up the videos a wee bit.
There is a lot of good coming from the 6IX and the boss is playing his part. Also, look out for Chronic Law’s Covoid – 6ix Freestyle and Daddy 1’s Float and Share It recently dropped.
