Vybz Kartel’s long wait for freedom continues. The Worl’Boss features on One Way Riddim along with a host of other top dancehall artists.In the event his appeal is successful will he continue to churn out quality music at the same rate? I don’t think so. The reason he has been able to top the charts consistently for the past five six years is because he doesn’t really have anything else to do but work on music. Taking nothing away from the Gaza boss but time will tell what really happens. For now we will take what is being dished out and it sure is gold.He is not the only one who shines on this riddim. Underrated Demarco also does well with ‘Kingston 20’. The gun influenced track precedes his instagram post of him at a shooting range, where he had mixed reviews on his shooting skills from fans and other stars including Gramps Morgan and Konshens, the latter featuring on the riddim with ‘Sky Dweller’. Demarco’s skills with a pistol were heavily criticised but was praised for his use of the rifle, with other fans saying he was always way off the target.‘Haterade‘ from Konshens may have come following Demarco’s attack on him in light of his nose ring. I-Octane and Demarco recently took shots at Konshens over his nose ring saying nose rings had no place for male dancehall artists.Squash features with ‘Bandit’ as well along with his 6iix member Chronic Law and Dane Ray who hit hard with ‘Aha (Last Laugh)’.Gaza’s other incarcerated deejay Shawn Storm is the final artist on the riddim with ‘All I Do’. Unfortunately my argument about Vybz Kartel having nothing better to do than make quality music during his incarceration does not hold for Shawn Storm, only that there is a huge gulf in the deejays’ talent. Shawn does well on the riddim though sounding a lot like the Gaza Boss at times. Fingers crossed once again on the convicts’ appeal.A good riddim to listen to. Take some time to listen to it as it is really worth your while.
