Spice and Vybz Kartel team up with Pantoranking

spice and vybz kartel team up with pantorankingSpice and Vybz Kartel teamed up once more, together with Nigeria’s Pantoranking in Worlds Apart. With a familiar Afro-beat, the track is very different from what you would expect from a Spice – Kartel collaboration. Vybz leaves his mark with his unique vocals and he really gets to showcase his singing talent. Following Spice’s ruptured hernia and sepsis earlier in the month, I suspect she will do more tracks like this as her dancing days may be past her.

African music continues to thrive and we get to enjoy it with chart-topping artists from Jamaica, who are also dubbed the King and Queen of dancehall. The genre should definitely take a page from the Afro-handbook in terms of lyrical content. Instead of singing about violence and strife like what you get from dancehall, focus on fun times and hope maybe a better idea.

Going back to my point about a different type of track from Spice and Vybz. Seeing as it’s a Thursday I may as well take you down memory lane and we take a look at some Vybz Spice tracks.

Vybz Kartel ft. Spice - Ramping Shop (Raw)

We start off with Rompin Shop in 2009. The title sets the tone in this raunchy song and Kartel and Spice leave no stone unturned in their descriptions. Fast forward to 2014 to Conjugal Visit and I don’t think I have to say much. We continue in the same vein in 2019 for Back Way. The track continues with similar themes of steamy trysts. And last but not least, Vybz and Spice share a Private Message in the 2022 track.

So I am sure you understand why I think Worlds Apart is a breath of fresh air. There is a lot going on in Spice’s life and this may be a good distraction for her. And, it’s business as usual for the Worl’Boss. What about a Vybz Kartel and Don Creety track?
