Just when things were settling down in dancehall. In the aftermath of the 6IX/Vendetta and Shenseea/Jada Kingdom beefs, some tension has arisen in the industry between Drake (yes Canadian Dreezy) and Mavado. 4 diss tracks in, the beef has reached a milestone where Mavado has drawn the Enemy Line. Popcaan who already has his reservations about the Gully Gawd, pledged his allegiance to his OVO boss Drake. While Gazanation kingpin Vybz Kartel has made subtle jabs at his arch-nemesis from the Gully on Instagram.
Without hankering on too much about its substance and whether it will last I would rather deflect my attention to something more jovial and entertaining. Energy God, Elephant Man, is back with a fresh new party song called Watch Watch with Breeza. With a message of trust (in a relationship). Ele features in a cool party video filled with the usual party gals. If you think of Elephant Man the first thing that will probably come to mind is dance moves and energy. Not suited for a particular of dance. The track does have a high energy vibe and the video vixens show off their positive energy along with their moneymakers.
Ele is not rid of his court case for immigration breach as it was rescheduled for a new hearing on September 4 2020. The alleged breach happened due to Covid 19 when Elephant Man had flown into Jamaica after touring Europe.
We may as well be entertained while we wait to see the Energy God’s fate and Watch Watch is a time killer worth pushing. Other party jams worth listening to are Busy Signal’s Clear Your Mind and Hitmakers Styla remix.
Whatever happens in the Mavado/Drake beef, if you’re into gritty lyrical bars Enemy Line is for you. Mavado is just letting his audience and fans know what he is all about in case you had forgotten.
