Reggae’s female songstress Alaine collaborated once more with Dexta Daps on their new reggae ballad See It Yah. Following their collaboration in 2017 on Be Good, the pair produced a heartwarming love song that will endure before people get tired of it. Known for bad boy antics and being a ladies’ man, the song revealed a softer side to Dexta Daps who is currently in a rich vein of form, following his previous collaboration with Cham, Jada Kingdom, and Bounty Killer in Slow Motion.
In addition to the song, Alaine, and Dexta’s chemistry shone through in the official video directed by Quan Nelson. If you were to view the video for the first time and did not know the pair, one would assume they already have some sort of intimate relationship going on. Alaine is no stranger to love songs and laced the track with her beautiful vocals which were surprisingly matched by the dancehall artist. It’s always good to hear beautiful vocals coming through in a song and you can always skip over what they are really saying and get lost in the harmonies and melodies.
The record was produced by Ajusdivybz Music and premiered on 19 May 2023. With all the fans’ praise the song has garnered, See It Yah has also won the hearts of other dancehall/reggae artists who have come out to praise the song including the likes of Romain Virgo, Stonebwoy, and Tarrus Riley. Not sure if it’s the biggest collaboration of the year, but it is way up there.
Look out for more music from the artists as I am sure they can catapult to greater heights if they use this as a marker. Speaking of Romain Virgo and Tarrus Riley. What’s up with them? They have been awfully quiet this year. We need more love in this world and its starts by getting more lovesongs like this.
