Kemar Vershawn Brown, born on 1 January 1991 in Cockburn Pen, Kingston, Jamaica, is a dancehall and reggae artist who was raised by a single mum. He started writing his own songs at the age of 9. He dropped out of school in grade 10 and still went on to study Electrical Engineering. Vershon began recording himself using his self-taught engineering skills. The rhythms he would create became a source of income and he started promoting dancehall sessions and his personal projects at parties. With the help of producer Christopher Birch of Birchill Music, the rising star became famous via his singles “Boom” and “Open Relationship” on Birch’s Tunova riddim. Vershon is also well-known for singles, “Tun it Up Ya Now” and “Clean Mi Heart Too Clean” and his music video for “Inna Real Life” has over 2 million views on YouTube. His fame is growing as he has many songs compiled with different riddims such as one of 2020 “Pray For Me” on High Supremacy riddim which he did with the artist Damage. His creative abilities have set him on a very dynamic journey of riddims and many producers have delightfully continued working with him whilst his career and popularity grow. To date, his work has been incorporated by at least 20 different record labels across the globe such as Cashflow records and Billion Music Group.
