T.O.K was a 4 band member group that hailed from Kingston, Jamaica, and concentrated on the dancehall genre. The group came together in 1996 and separated in 2015. The names of the members were Alistaire McCalla, Craig Thompson, Roshaun Clarke, and Xavier Davidson. In 2004, the New York Times labeled them the world’s greatest dancehall-reggae boy band with hits like “Hey Ladies”, “Guardian Angel”, “Footprints”, and many others. In 1996, they had their debut single  “Hit Them High,” didn’t do well. After signing up with High Profile label the single ” Hardcore Lover” which featured Lady Saw became a hit that got to the local charts and VP records signed them up. My Crew, My Dawgs made it to top 10 at the Billboard Top Reggae album in 2001. The group had accolades of success including “Gal You A Lead,” produced by Bobby Konders, which was among the 2004 top songs. Unknown Language was their 2nd album in 2005 and it made it to the Billboard Charts. 2009 saw their 3rd album released Our World and featured legends like Beenie-Man. A collaboration with Major Lazer birthed another the hit “Shell It Down” in 2013. In the same year 2015 when they were supposed to release another album titled Taking Over, Davidson made the decision to exit from the band. This subsequently led to the whole group going their separate ways.
