Garth Romie Alexander Williams, born in 1974 in Kingston, Jamaica, is a dancehall DJ, singer, and songwriter. His musical inspiration was derived from the likes of Buju Banton and Burro Banton. Ricky General, a good buddy of Mega’s, who was also a DJ at the time facilitated his meeting with Maurice Johnson aka “Jack Scorpio”  and from there Mega started working on a lot of singles through Black Scorpio label. In fact, most of his projects were handled by Black Scorpio. “Sound Boy Killing” was a hit single that made it big in the charts and in 1994 it’s remaking made it to the Billboard charts including the Top 20 on the Dance Music Maxi Singles chart. It even made it to 92nd position on the Hot R&B Hip Hop Songs chart. Other smash hits are “First Position”, released by VP Records, “No Ninja, No Buju”, and “Decision.”In 1994 “Money 1st” became a hot topic because women took offense that he was encouraging prostitution through the song. Mega released a single titled “A Tribute to Garnett Silk” when Garnett Silk passed on. “She’s Mine” was a single Mega did with Barrington Levy in 1988. 1,000,000 Megawatts was the bomb in 1995, a very entertaining debut album that made his fan base multiply with great speed. It was released by the Sony label, Relativity Records, and the album New Year, New Style. Mega traveled internationally and the quality of the delivery of his music was well received all over the world. In 2004, Mega began solo projects such as, ‘Pon Di Corner’ was the local number one hit featuring Delly Ranx and in addition, producer Arthur Wail’s projects for his Free Willy label. In October 2013, he took one of his mentees, Tommy Lee Sparta, and did a collaboration with him. The mentorship commenced during their hangouts in Flankers, St James at a studio. He has a current music video that he released early 2020 titled “Look Good Time.”
