Rushane Sanderson, was born in the rural part of St.Mary, Jamaica, and is a dancehall and reggae recording artist. He began his passion for singing at the tender age of 14 years old and has never looked back. His family members influenced him to focus on music just as they had deep roots in it. He gained more experience through participating and performing at different community events and Jamaican singing competitions like The Magnum Kings and Queens contest. In 2012, he took part in this same competition and he won himself a glorious recording contract and a whopping 1 million Jamaican dollars. Some of the hits that Deep Jahi are ‘Nuh Punching Bag,’ ‘Life Goes On,’ and Another Murder. One of his early albums was titled Harsh Reality which got released in 2014. Jahi has a widespread fanbase both locally in Jamaica and the Caribbean as well as internationally. His song ‘I love JA,’ caused him to win at Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival. In 2016, ‘Nah Rape,’ with Chronicles of A Woman riddim was and still is another major highlight in his career. Jahi has explored his gifting with numerous riddims along the way like 2017’s Psychotic riddim, Suit and Tie riddim, and Margarita riddim. 2018 saw the release of ‘Gifted’ and ‘Bloody Streets.’ His current music video ‘Choppa Choppa’ is making waves with at least half a million views on YouTube since its release on 26 March 2020.
