Koffee Drops Summers Lockdown Jam

koffee drops summers lockdown jam

Seems like everything dancehall’s female heiress Koffee touches turns to gold. Her latest track Lockdown has shot to number one on the island amassing over 1.3m views on Youtube. Dubbed the summer’s lockdown jam, Koffee shines once again delivering yet another banger with a PG-13 music video. Who says you can’t have a dancehall video without skimpily dressed women gyrating all over the place?

The video was directed by Yannick Reid and Habibi and features Popcaan, Skillibeng and Dre Island vibing in the background. Game recognises game and it’s no wonder such artists would appear in the video. The clean track has Koffee singing about life in lockdown and what it may entail afterwards.

2020 has been a historic year for the young Spanish Town artist who scooped the Grammy for Best Reggae Album. If she continues on these levels she may live up to her billing as the next Bob Marley. Koffee represents herself with much aplomb but unfortunately, the haters are now on her case and questioning her sexuality. She doesn’t do herself any favors though in her video as she rocks her tomboy look featuring male artists as well. However, what’s her sexuality got to do with anything? The music should do all the talking and she will reveal to the world about herself in her own time.

Either way, Koffee is set to release her next single Pressure on the 30th of July. People should be more concerned about that and I can only imagine what that single is going to be like. At this rate, the young artist may as well release another album. Who knows another Grammy could be in line.

Koffee leads the way on trending charts against a backdrop of other top tracks which include Antisocial and Guidance from Intence. Govana’s Likkle Bit A Money, Alkaline’s We Up and Protojé’s Same So.
