Jahvillani marked the 2020 register with the release of his take on 2019s Aircraft Riddim‘s music video. The track ‘Rubber Band’ features alongside other tracks like Big Big, Aircraft and Up Front by Chris Martin, Aidonia and Govana respectively.
The riddim was produced by Chimney Records, led by producers Jordan McClure and David Hayle. Furthermore, Rubber Band was released on the 8th of December 2020, and now has a classic dancehall gangster video. Nothing better than wads of cash, booze and a bevy of beauties to uphold your relevance in the game. Although the track was not the stand out number on the riddim, the trap dancehall delivery made it Jahvillani unique.
The North Coast artist can mark a very steady progression in his development. Jahvillani has proved to be a top talent but is not as prolific as I am sure his fans would want. He does make his niche selections work for him well which reflects in his music. He had a relatively good 2019 with hit songs like Clark Pan Foot and Sunday to Sunday.
Jahvillani, whose real name is Dujon Mario Edwards, has moulded his image around the fashionable gangster look, who is always seen with a blunt in hand. It is showcased in his music videos as he delivers his bars with that trap feel but always being true to the dancehall genre.
Along with artists like Jahmiel, Teegay, and Daddy 1 who one can say are in his league he is definitely one to look out for this year. He is yet to get off the mark this year with a fresh release. However, be rest assured something good is in the pipeline. The Wileside artist is definitely due an album though. After graduating from Ocho Rios High School, in 2011, the artist needs a project to reflect how good he is. With the right direction and collaborations who knows the levels he can reach.
Let’s hope he keeps his head down and continues to make records. All the while keeping up with other dominant artists like Alkaline, Popcaan and Govana.
