It All Comes Back To Love

it all comes back to love

Maxi Priest teams up with long-time friend Shaggy once again, alongside Rnb’s Estelle and Anthony Hamilton in ‘Anything You Want’.

The star studded cast show of their different skills in this RnB jam. After listening to it, I realised I could not classify it in either the dancehall or reggae categories. And that, the only thing that could relate it to Jamaica was the fact that both Shaggy and Maxi Priest have Jamaican heritage.

The legends do gel well together in this easy flowing track without too many thrills and frills. The sound does take you back to the 90s when Maxi and Shaggy and Mr Hamilton were in their prime. This sounds cliché, but the youth don’t seem to make music like this anymore. So, it is only fitting that the old timers roll back the years now and again evoking that 90s nostalgia.

Maxi Priest - Anything You Want (feat. Estelle, Anthony Hamilton and Shaggy) (Audio)

This track is the second collaboration of four involving Shaggy and Maxi on Maxi Priest’s anticipated album. It is set to be released in September 2019. Shaggy is the man running point in the production of the album for BMG’s subsidiary S Curve Records. The album titled ‘It All Comes Back to Love’  also features the pair in ‘I’m Alright’, ‘Cool Nuh’ and ‘My Pillow’.

Based on the first singles released the album is set be a mixed bag of genres and fusions. Maxi blends all kinds of genres together including reggae, ska, rnb, soca and lovers rock grooves. He always had a husky, smouldering singing voice and despite his age now, it hasn’t changed much and still works for him.

Look out for the ‘Anything You Want’ for a journey back to the 90s. And mark September 20, on your calendar as that is the proposed release date for Maxi Priest’s, ‘It all Comes Back To Love’.
