Blending Life Experiences Musically

If you ever find yourself fifteen to twenty minutes early for a date, you may as well keep yourself entertained and get into a relaxed mode listening to Tarrus Riley’s latest album. ‘Blending Life Experiences Musically,’ is a 6 track album released by Mr Riley in June where he shares some relationship experiences in a refreshing simple way.

Tarrus has had a quiet year for his standards but has been able to produce good music not quite at the same rate as previous years. With ‘B.L.E.M.’ doing the rounds, Tarrus has also produced other quality singles and featured on other peoples tracks and shined.

B.L.E.M. features Ghanaian Stonebwoy who showcases his African take on the dancehall genre as the pair sing and rap about a love interest in ‘G.Y.A.L.’ Tarrus goes on in ‘Trust Issues’ giving his insight on how women develop insecurities from unhealthy relationships. He keeps it very simple as his songs are singularly not longer than three and a half minutes. He is still able to deliver his message very eloquently though.

Lila Ike answers back in what is potentially a risque relationship in ‘Dangerous Waters’, as the song describes what a lot of people go through. ‘Just Love’ features Nia V in another authentic track about love. ‘Kryptonite’ and ‘Feel it’ are the other tracks on the album which maintain the same mood and tempo of the album.

This is a project that was well thought out and upon listening hits home with most of the subject matter. Tarrus keeps it very simple but there is a lot of complexity in its simplicity if you know what I mean.

His other hits this year are ‘Jamaican Proverb’ on St Andrew Riddim where he gets to be a source of inspiration for the youth and the feel good ‘Feeling Irie’ with General Degree.

His other notable features were with Govana in Unanswered, ‘Every Nation’ with Sizzla, Chino and Dre Island.

Trademark Tarrus Riley with B.L.E.M. keeps the fire burning and the genre looks forward to more life experiences showcased in his music. Keep it coming Mr Riley!
