Alkaline Kicks Off With Riches

Alkaline Riches

Vendetta Boss Alkaline, released his latest jam ‘Riches’ featuring Sashie Cool, Knaxx, and Star Captyn. After a slow start to 2019, Alkaline has hit the ground running this year with this hot collaboration. Produced by Gegodon Records the audio has already garnered 92k Youtube streams just 16 hours from its release.

Alkaline peaked late last year with tracks like ‘Nothing Nuh Change’, ‘With The Thing’ and ‘Nuh Average’. He was probably also spurred on amidst the well documented lyrical beef with the 6IX, releasing numerous diss tracks against Squash and Chronic Law. However things petered out when the festive season rolled in and he went quiet again. Fortunately for his fans he is back again early this year.

Collaborations were not really his thing last year so its good to see him out here again collaborating with various artists and bringing out that Alkaline flow. He talks about his envied riches again in this latest track. Surprisingly a topic fans can’t get enough of. Its part of the culture right so we just have to embrace it. To be fair the track is more about putting on these emerging artists who are part of the Vendetta clan. Sashie Cool made headway last year featuring on various riddims like AMG and doing well in ‘Womanizer‘. Knaxx and Star Captyn have still got more work to do but are steadily putting their names out there.

What is dancehall without a little beef and controversy? I am sure something will brew again this year with Alkaline. If the beef is not with the 6IX members or with Popcaan, Alkaline will get into some dispute with someone this year and its just a matter of time. Its probably due to his arrogance, witty flow and bars that rub people the wrong way.

Its only just the beginning. I see a good year where Alkaline can dominate this year alongside perennial giants like Popcaan and Vybz Kartel. Also look out for Squash and Chronic Law who will definitely be releasing fire tracks soon.
